Looking for a book that will take you away? How about a book that will transport you to a place where men beg for your romantic attention? If you are a fan of the Bachelor or the Bachelorette series, you will be a fan of this book!

The chief character, Bea, a plus-sized fashion blogger, was not always keen to be in the spotlight. She used to shy away from attention, but one trip to Paris changed everything for her. She found out, through fashion, she could be a version of herself that she wanted to show to the world.

When she started her blog about fashion and body positivity, people couldn’t get enough. The show similar to the Bachelor/Bachelorette in this book is called The Main Squeeze. Bea is a big fan of this dating show, and when she was watching one night, she tweeted complaints about how exclusive they are with diversity, specifically body diversity. There is rarely anyone on the show that isn’t a size 0-4 or a man who isn’t a complete muscular adonis. This angered Bea, especially since the average dress size for women in the U.S. is a size 14. Her rant about the show’s exclusivity went viral, and they asked her to become the next “Main Squeeze,” in order to change the world’s perception of body image and the show’s poor record.

Although Bea only agreed to go on the show for publicity and to skyrocket her fashion career, she couldn't help fall for some of the season's most eligible men. Now her problem shifted to protecting her heart and figuring out who was there for the right reasons, and who was there to remain in the spotlight.

Kate Stayman-London’s book inspires her readers to love who they are, no matter what they look like. Bea sees herself as beautiful and deserving of love, even when both the men on the show and the American public call her hideous names. It is tremendously important that we are proud of who we are and happy with our bodies since we are only given one per lifetime. Bae’s tale is filled with the perfect balance of self-love and romantic love, proving how equally important they both are.

"He wasn't a fantasy, he wasn't a dream, and he wasn't a happy ending. He was warmth and wit and kindness, a certainty and a surprise. He was the person that could hurt her the most in the world, and he was worth the risk" (409).

On Bea’s journey, she travels with these handsome men around the globe, discovering so much more than just who they are. She is able to find out what she is really looking for in a partner and in her life. Bea Schumacher teaches the important lesson that everyone, no matter their size, is deserving of love and no one should settle for what they think they deserve but always strive for what their heart wants.

This story sweeps you away into a world of magic and romance, the perfect escape from today’s world health news. I thoroughly enjoyed Bea’s adventures of love and heartbreak and I hope you do too!
